I’ve tried plenty of various baguette recipes…..but this one is what you need! Thanks to weekendbakery.com for their recipe and detailed instruction, plus video. You definitely have to try it out! Make sure you adjust it to your baking style, oven and skills….
I’ve tried it several times and understood that I need to make 6 or even 8 instead of 4 as they tell you in the recipe (because of the size of my oven).
And yes, it’s a lot of work, you need about 5 hours from start to finish, but it’s so worth it!
For the proofing stage, you’d better have a couche (you see this special linen cloth in the picture above that holds the baguette shape); however, my first times (not having one) I used a kitchen towel (be careful, use A LOT of flour on it). Nevertheless, the couche is the best tool for your French baguettes (you can order it there at weekendbakery.com, or maybe even at Aliexpress or Amazon…).
